Accessing same day doctor appointments for urgent problems 

We have a  number of appointments available on the day for urgent appointments only.  If these appointments have all been used by the time you call in, a receptionist will take your phone number and a brief outline of the problem and the duty doctor will call you back. If your problem is particularly urgent please tell the receptionist and your call will be answered as a priority, however please be aware that the doctor may be dealing with other urgent cases, if in doubt please call 999 for very urgent medical problems.

The duty doctor will clarify your medical need and offer one of the following:

1. Advice over the telephone

2. An appointment with the nurse or health care assistant if appropriate

3. A future appointment with one of our doctors

4. A same day appointment with another Doctor, if available

5. An appointment with one of the Duty Team that day

6. For serious and urgent problems, where the patient is too ill to get to the surgery, a visit by one of the Doctors or Nurse Practitioner
